From Amy Ho '07 Senior Class Vice President

Hi Ben Gibbard!

As a senior at Rosemead High school, I’ve been involved with ASB both my junior and senior years. Planning the prom was one of my tasks and I can feel for the juniors the cruel ambition to want to aim big and give nothing less than the best. Rosemead is not a city that provides much resource for events like this. Therefore, I can also understand how difficult it is to make all that they dreamed and envisioned possible. Many who have already experienced prom either say it is ‘extremely overrated’ or ‘the best time you’ll have’. Please consider our efforts, it is what this that will make prom ‘the best’ rather than an over-hyped, mediocre formal.
The junior class fundraises every single week and these fundraisers take up hours of their time. They’re only doing this to make it big, too see all that they imagine before their eyes and to make memories for all those who attend. However, everyone needs some help to make it to the top. All entertainers are able to relate. Ben Gibbard, please play at our prom! You should feel blessed that students prefer to hear “Such Great Heights” rather than anything that goes, “my lovely lady humps….”

MR. BEN GIBBARD,

MY NAME IS CECILIA GUTIERREZ, AND IM A JUNIOR AT ROSEMEAD HIGH SCHOOL. FORTHE PAST THREE YEARS IVE SEEN HOW HARD OUR JUNIOR CLASS CABINET HAS WORKEDTO MAKE THIS YEAR'S PROM THE BEST. I PERSONALLY BELIEVE OUR JUNIOR CLASS CABINET HAS DONE A GREAT JOB SETTING IT ALL UP. THIS YEAR'S THEME IS "SUCH GREAT HEIGHTS" AND OUR PROM IS GOING TO BE AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS WHERE "SUCH GREAT HEIGHTS" ARE AT.

IT WOULD BE AN HONOR IF YOU CAN PLEASE HELP US OUT AND BE OUR GUEST AT PROM.YOU WOULD REALLY BE MAKING OUR PROM THE BEST IN ROSEMEAD HIGH HISTORY. TO OTHERS PROM MEANS NOTHING AND I KNOW BECAUSE I WAS AN "OTHER" UNTIL I THOUGHT OF EVERYTHING THE CABINET WENT THROUGH TO GET TO THIS POINT. THEY HAD CARWASHES ALMOST EVERY WEEKEND, SELLING GRAMS AND OTHER SCHOOL SPIRIT OBJECTS JUST TO RAISE UP ALL THE MONEY WE DON'T HAVE!! THIS CABINET HAS REALLY IMPRESSED OUR CLASS AND MADE THEM REALIZE HOW HARD THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING THROUGHT OUT THE PAST THREE YEARS.

MIKE SANDOVAL IS A GREAT LEADER AND HAS TAUGHT ME ALOT ABOUT GOING AHEAD AND TRYING MY BEST TO GET WHERE I WANT AND WHAT I WANT, AND IM SURE EVERYONEELSE FEELS THE SAME WAY. RIGHT NOW THIS IS WHAT WE WANT!!! WE WANT YOU TO BE OUR GUEST AT OUR JUNIOR/SENIOR PROM. LIKE I MENTIONED BEFORE THE CABINET HASWORKED VERY HARD IN PUTTING THIS "PUZZLE" TOGETHER AND EVERYTHING SEEMS AWSOME RIGHT NOW BUT JUST LIKE MIKE SANDOVAL, I FEEL LIKE WE NEED THE LASTPIECE OF THE PUZZLE TO MAKE IT JUST PERFECT. THE LAST PIECE OF THE PUZZLE WOULD BE YOU....SO IF YOU CAN PLEASE HELP US OUT AND MAKE THIS YEAR'S PROM THEBEST.... I BEG YOU BEN GIBBARD HELP US OUT AND PLAY AT OUR PROM.

Dear Mr. Ben Gibbard,

As you can see, the students, including myself, at Rosemead High School, are begging you to come and play a song or two at our prom. And as you already probably know, the theme of our prom is one of your very own songs, “Such Great Heights” Our school is probably just like every other school, work hard all year then have the best night of our high school career at prom. An appearance by you would make our prom night even more memorable than the 2008 Class Cabinet has already tried their very best to do. Now I can go on and on about how much I love your songs, but I won’t. I could also go on and on about how many students love you, but again I won’t. I would just like you to know, that it would mean the world to us students of Rosemead High School if you just could mark your calendar and make an appearance at our prom this year.

With Much Love,
Mimi Su

Dear Ben Gibbard,

As my final year of attending high school, I am more than excited to attend this year's prom. When I first heard this year's theme, "Such Great Heights", I was thrilled. It was as if the title was a clue to a perfect night.

Before I discovered the title for this year's prom, I had always wanted "Such Great Heights" as a theme when I was a junior planning for the prom last year. However, it did not go through. So when I heard about it for my senior prom, it was as if this last formal dance would be the ultimate way to end my senior year.

I have witnessed this year's junior class officers work day and night in order to create an unforgettable prom. Your presence would be the most important aspect to this year's amazing prom at Universal Studios. Your song has given them much inspiration to continue to work hard. If you could play on Saturday, April 28th, 2007, you will create the most incredible moment for every single senior and junior attending this year's prom.

We want to be waving to you from Such Great Heights so please tell Rosemead High School you'll do it! :-)

Sincerely, Stephanie Chan

Dear Mr. Ben Gibbard,

Let's start off by saying I am one of your biggest fan. I know most of your songs, I own most of the albums you have put out. You music is inspirational, especially "Such Great Heights". "Such Great Heights" was chosen as our theme for this year's prom. I currently attend Rosemead High School, which is an alright school. We are not financially wealthy based on our community, but we have the greatest people. Mr. Sandoval, the class advisor that is putting together our senior/junior prom, is a dedicated, hard working, self-driven man. I know, he just wants the best for all of us, and by doing so, he created this site. His goal was to have you, Ben Gibbard, to play at Rosemead High School's prom. From deep down within our hearts, it will mean so much to all of us if we are privileged to have you. I only get one prom, one last chance to fully experience a great high school event, and having you will be one of my highlights throughout my high school experience or even my life.

With great hopefulness,
Danny Wong

Dear MR. GIBBARD,

I think that you rock and your band rocks. The music that you guys play fit any mood that I'm in whether it be if I'm mad, sad glad and everything inbetween. Please play at our prom at the globe theater of the universe!!!! It would make everything thing that ever went wrong in the past four years of my high school career right. It would be the most wonderful memory that I can take with me for the rest of my life. So please, if you can, play at Rosemead's 2007 prom entitled "Such Great Heights." =)

Sincerly,
Kevin Lor

Dear Ben Gibbard,

I would do absolutely anything for you to come to my Junior Prom at Rosemead High School. My teacher Mr. Sandoval would even chop off a limb. Both of us want this Prom to be engraved in everone's memory for as long as they live. This will make everyone enjoy Prom more but the seniors would be the ones who will truely appreciate it. For it is their last year and you need to make this year memorable. Thank you for your time.

Dear Mr. Gibbard:

I personally know one of the teachers working on this year's RosemeadHigh School prom. Mr. Michael Sandoval has worked so hard trying toraise money and planning this event for his students. He is a dedicated teacher and would love nothing more than to reward his students' hard work with their first choice band to perform at their prom.

Mr. Sandoval and the students of Rosemead High School will truly appreciate your appearance at their Prom and you will not be disappointed by their enthusiasm and spirit.

Mr. Sandoval has worked so hard for the past many months to not onlyraise money and plan the Prom with his students, but to also get hisstudents' top choice performer to get to perform at the event. So please, please..pretty please...perform at this year's Rosemead HS Prom.

Very truly yours,

Dear Ben Gibbard,

I am a senior at Rosemead HS and can't wait to be attending my last prom. I am really psyched about it and know it's going to be great. Our theme is, "Such Great Heights" and a awesome one at that. I know that having you their would be the the final touch in making our prom 100 trillion times better. Many students at Rosemead are huge fans of yours and would love to see you there. It would be a unforgettable experience and hopefully the best one for me for my last year in high school. You are an inspiration to many as well as myself and that's also why this is so meaningful for you to attend. Thank you for your time and consideration. Hopefully we hear from you soon. Dear Ben Gibbard,

Well I'm here writing you this letter asking you if you would please play at RHS junior/senior prom. I've been to many proms before, but none of them were as memorable as they should have been due to the entertainment. Every dance our school keeps getting the same dj, whichby the way sucks. Its my senior year and I want to remember this prom,so does everyone else, and music for me, and others, is a big factor. Your music is so powerful and awsome its like the sound track to our lives. Don't you want to be part of our great motion picture called "the greatest prom ever at rosemead high" and if our prom life was a movie you would get an oscar for "best soundtrack." awesome, isn't it? So just imagine and concider what a great deal it would meanto all us little middle class small town rosemead student. Please playat out prom... Its at universal studios! Lol
