From An Anonymous Graduate

Dear Ben Gibbard,

I am a student at UCSD and no longer attend Rosemead High. I am also a fanof your music, whether it be Death Cab or Postal Service. It's your musicthat saves the world from my road rage.I felt it appropriate to use this chance as a way to send my gratitude foryour contribution to the music world which branches its influence to manylives that you will probably never be able to come in contact with. Thankyou for your band's work.Rosemead high is not your rich, happy school. Our school had manyobstacles to overcome and everywhere Rosemead students go, we have toexplain where, and in what state it is. "It's in L.A., near Pasadena"(little do they know, Pasadena is maybe 20 minutes away). I only hope thatyou consider that performing at their prom would be a monument of anevent. Years later, Rosemead students will have higher aspirations as tobelieve in the caring nature of others, even distant celebrities andmusicians who have many other worries on their minds.Maybe, just maybe you will attend their Such Great Heights prom, and thenwe can shove it in the faces of skeptics who said it would never happen.
