Dear Mr. Ben Gibbard,

I’m thinking it’s a sign that the first formal dance I’m ever attending is themed “Such Great Heights”, one of my favorite tunes, which means that this year’s prom has the potential to be AWESOME. I also, have to speculate, that God himself does mean for you to play at our senior prom. True, it may seem like a stretch, but it would be absolutely mind-blowing if you could come. You should also be flattered that we, tried our best to leave, this desperate attempt on your machine, but we were unable to contact you, hence the forming of this website. If, however, you fail to come, that, frankly will not fly. I’ll be soooooo disappointed! Instead of joyful laughing at prom, you will hear the shrillest highs and lowest lows coming out of our limos. Mr. Gibbard, you have the potential to bring us to such great heights, so please come!

A very excited, expectant, and darn witty senior,

HI MR.GIBBARD,

Hello. How are you? And you ask me? Well, I'll be GREAT if you play at our prom. As you know, our theme this year is " Such Great Heights". I would be very flattered if I were in your shoes right now. A theme of prom is named after one of your most successful songs? Not to mention one of my favorite songs of all time. Now, don't think that I'm exaggerating or anything, but did you know that whenever I hear your song, it makes me feel like I am on top of a cloud? I feel like nothing can touch me and all I can do is daze off into space trying to feel what you felt when you first sang this song to yourself. I know you've inspired many people out there and you probably don't even know the half of it. I know that Rosemead High School is not a very big school and we do not get the best things like other schools but I know if you showed up at our prom, we would be so GRATEFUL. You do not know how much the CLASS OF '08 put into this prom. As a former class cabinet member for two years now, I can see how many late nights were spent not doing homework and instead spent on trying to make the deserving students of Rosemead High School happy. I can not believe how much committment was put into this and how much stress were put onto this cabinet. I think they would have the butterflies in their stomachs fly out of their mouths because of their excitement, not to mention their advisor doing the same, MIKE SANDOVAL. He was the one who organized this whole thing and seems to want this more than anyone else. I don't think for his own benefit either, but to probably to see the smiles on everyone's faces when you come to our prom. He has been with us for almost three years now and is soon onto his fourth. He put up with all of us and really actually is the BEST advisor ever put onto this earth.

To sum this up, I think EVERYONE would be so GRATEFUL if you even appeared for one song at our prom. The rosemead high school students will really have a year to remember if you come to our prom. We are hoping that this is our best prom yet and if we had you there, I think everyone would DIE HAPPY. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your time. I HOPE you can attend our prom this year. I'm sure there wouldn't be a single frown in the audience. THANKS AGAIN. HAVE A NICE DAY.=)

YOUR DEAR FAN,
DANG TRAN

Dear Ben Gibbard,

I am a junior attending rosemead high school. i am so excited for this year's prom, especially because ive been able to help out the awesome junior class associated body student government cabinet in making our prom a reality! we have been working really hard practically every day of the week since last year to raise as much money as we can to make prom more affordable for the students attending RHS. our class cabinet has always been known for making our school events some of the greatest and most memorable. were asking you to play at our prom so we can achieve our biggest goal this year: setting up prom for our wondeful seniors! all of our hard work and dedication has really created and already exciting prom but this would be the greatest final touch in PROM HISTORY! we hope that you will stop by and if you could just show up or maybe even play one song it would make this year's prom absolutely amazing! i couldnt think of anything better for our prom. we made our theme based on the song title, "Such Great Heights." as you can see, it originated from the song your band made famous! We used some of the lyrics to help us come up with ideas for entertainment and decoration. We are abosolutely in love with the Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie. I am sure everyone at our school feels the same way. i know it would just be the best night of my life if you played our prom Mr. Gibbard! so please dont let us down because we are trying really hard!!!

- Sincerely
Karen Diep
